ITINERARY

Nomadic Trail

Day 0:

Overnight stay in Kamenica

Day 1:

Riding from Kamenica to Borac and on to Belo Polje (1st overnight stay is in Belo Polje, on a farm with a host family). In Borac will be a very old fortress (ruins) visited from the Roman period and an ancient church dating back to 1395. The church has been spared by the Ottomans, so you can still admire the original frescoes. Predominantly field rides, routes, and only a little forest.

Day 2:

Belo Polje to Zdreban.

Zdreban is an air thermal bath, where was once a large complex was started but never completed because of diff. Reasons. Many people tell that headaches go away if they stay for a while in Zdreban.

The trail leads trhough nice oak forets, over plateaus over which you can nicely gallop.Overnight stay in Zdreban in a private accommodation.

Day 3:

Zdreban to Vujan (old monastery) and continuing to the spa Gornja Trepca

From Zdreban we ride to the spa of Gornja Trepca, where you can have a massage and a thermal spa (massage and bath surcharge: massage about € 15 .- / 45min, Wather Spa Euro 20.-,medical body check obilgated.

A few words to the thermal spa Gornja Trepca.

"Even the heroes of the Battle of Kosovo, as well as the participants in the I. and II. Serbian Uprising have here allegedly healed their wounds. For many centuries, there are legends about our spa; a legend: a Serbian hero slew his sick and exhausted horse here after the Battle of Kosovo. The horse lay for days in the mud next to the source. When a few days later the monks of the nearby monastery Vujan came and cheerfully neighing horse saw, they spread the story of the healing waters. The water was "Svetinja" (Sanctuary) appointed and they began to drink the water and described in him baden.Bei an investigation of the physicochemical properties of the thermal waters of Gornja Trepca in 1904 of Dr. M. Nikolic and Dr. A.Zege the former spa. There were four huts where 50 to 60 patients could be accommodated, a village and a monastery tavern and a poorly furnished bath room. The season lasted from June to September. The roads were bad and at times completely impassable. The hard movable and immovable patient had to be carried to the bath room on hands".

The spa is particularly good for rheumatic and neurological ailments.

Day 4:

Thermal Spring Gornja Trepca through Takovo to Klaticevo

In the 2nd Takovo uprising began under the guidance of Milos Obrenovic against the Ottomans. Us expects a beautiful accommodation (Tri Hrasta = Three Oaks), a swimming pool and sauna (Sauna surcharge).

Day 5:

Klaticevo to Kostunici

From Klaticevo through several villages, fields and forests we ride on the 5th day to Kostunici where guests have the opportunity to bathe in a river. The accommodation is first class and the food excellent. It has 74 accommodations - traditional Serbian wooden houses. The complex has its own factory for the production of organic juices and jams.

Day 6:

Kostunici over Ravna Gora to Divcibare

From Kostunici over Ravna Gora, where the nature suddenly change and partially becomes step-like in contrast to the lush Sumadija, one reaches the mountain Divcibare, which is about 1100 m above sea Height. The air here is very healthy and the spring water of high quality. Divcibare is a beautiful, rather wooded area.

Day 7:

Divcibare to Rajac

On the 7th day we will reach an attractive mountain, Rajac, which provides a very wide view over the countryside. Overnight stay at large, sympathetic mountain lodge called "Cika Dusko Jovanovic".

Day 8:

Rajac to Ostrvica

From Rajac the paths leads us over the impressive, lush countryside to Ostrvica. Ostrvica is a dean volcano where the guest has the opportunity to climb up to 758 meters above sea level, and enjoy the wonderful sight. Ostrvica is located right next to the mountain Rudnik. Accommodation on a farm.

Day 9:

Ostrvica on the mountain Rudnik over Gornja Crnuca (Break in Gornja Crnuca) to Kamenica

From Ostrvica over the wooded mountain Rudnik (1132 m above sea level. M.) through nice, different forets and later through fields, we make a break in Gornja Crnuca and after a final nice we arrive on our farm in Kamenica. On request, and if there is enough time available, we can visit the monastery Vracevsnica from the 14 Century, which is located on the way back.

Day 4:

Klaticevo-Rajac

On the 4th day we will reach an attractive mountain, Rajac, which provides a very wide view over the countryside. Overnight stay at large, sympathetic mountain lodge called "Cika Dusko Jovanovic".

Day 5:

Rajac-Ostrvica

From Rajac the paths leads us over the impressive, lush countryside to Ostrvica. Ostrvica is a dean volcano where the guest has the opportunity to climb up to 758 meters above sea level, and enjoy the wonderful sight. Ostrvica is located right next to the mountain Rudnik. Accommodation on a farm.

Again through sleepy villages, fields and at the end more forests we reach finally Zagradje. There is a dead volcano located called Ostrvica, with a height of 758 m above sea level, where the guests have the possibilty to climb up and enjoy the wonderful sight. Ostrvica is located next to the mountain Rudnik. Accommodation on a farm.

Day 6:

Ostrvica-Kamenica

From Ostrvica over the wooded mountain Rudnik (1132 m above sea level. M.) through nice, different forets and later through fields, we make a break in Gornja Crnuca and after a final nice ride we arrive on our farm in Kamenica. On request, and if there is enough time available, we can visit the monastery Vracevsnica from the 14 Century, which is located on the way back.

The trail is about 170 km

Tent Trail

Day 0:

Overnight stay in Kamenica

Day 1:

Kamenica-Trudelj

We start on about 400m.a. sea level in Kamenica and climb on the first day the mostly wooded Mount Rudnik (1132 m.o.s.l.). After that the path leads us through forests of the mount Rudnik and after through fields to the village Trudelj.

Day 2:

Trudelj-Rajac

The second day inbetween Trudelj and Rajac proceeds varied. From fields, forests, streams up to highland. Rajac is a climatic health-resort situated on 600-800 (m.a.s.l.).

Day 3:

Rajac-Divcibare

From Rajac (Raj-Paradise) we ride over Ravna Gora, where the nature suddenly changes and becomes partly steppe-like I the contrast of the lush Sumadija, and reach the mountains of Divcibare, which is on about 1100 m.a.s.l. The air is here especially pure and healthy and the sources are of high quality. Divcibare is a beautiful rather intensive wooded environment. We spend the night in an accommodation.

Day 4:

Divcibare-Kostunici

From Divcibare again over steppe-like landscape we reach Kostunici, where the guests have the opportunity to have a bath in a accumulated river which is part of a touristic center. There are two restaurants and bars (cafés).

Day 5:

Kostunici-Slavkovica

From Kostunici we ride on over the more and more becoming lush to the typically Sumadian environment to Slavkovica. Slavkovica has a gentle and lovely nature with a lot of biogeographical diversity.

Day 6:

Slavkovica-Svrackovci-Crnuca-Kamenica

On the last day we ride over the typical hilly landscape of the Sumadija. A lot of fields, nice forests, forest-paths to our farm in Kamenica.

The trail is about 200km.
